Fall cleaning for Selling

Time to do a little Fall spruce up and preparation for those gloomy days and long dark nights.

  • Check all outside and inside lighting.  This includes motion sensors.

  • Clean the shades/covers of all your lighting.

  • Check those attic fans.

  • Wash the exterior of your house but be careful of power washers as they can force water where it may encourage mildew.  A simple garden hose is good.

  • Clean the coils on the back or underneath your refrigerator.

  • Clean your your dryer vent system.

  • Clean your stove fan and filters.
  • Replace washers on any leaky taps.

Remember the importance of the appearance of a well cared for home inside and out!  This is a great time to prune those trees!  Don't forget first impressions make a difference so remember the garden.

Calendula is the flower for October

These annuals add a brilliant colour to any garden and flower well into the fall if protected from harsh weather.

Thought for the Month

Autumn tones shine on the trees

And October days are growing short

Now the garden's bright with leaves

In the fading sunlight caught."

Tips and Bits

Staging Advice

The front door, whether a house, a townhouse or the door to a condo suite, is one of the first things a buyer sees.  And while standing there waiting for the door to be opened they have ample time to really look at it.  So does it need:

A coat of paint?

A new door handle?

and since we are officially in Autumn what about an Autumn wreath?
