The Importance of Referrals

Referrals are an effective form of marketing, because what other people say about you is more believable than what you say about yourself (this is why testimonials are so good for business).

We all like referrals but most business owners are doing nothing to get them.

  • Customers need to know that Referrals are an important part of your business.

  • Ask in person, ask by mail and email, ask on the phone. Ask – and keep asking.

  • Remember that customers are not just doing you a favor by giving you a Referral. We ENJOY giving Referrals. Don't you love recommending a great movie, book or store?  Your customers will get pleasure from giving the people they know the same experience they've had.

  • Thank your customers when they give you Referrals.

  • Reward your customers for giving you a Referral with a gift, or something of value from your business.

  • Referrals are a vital part of the Marketing mix during the best of times. In  difficult times they're simply essential. People are more cautious with the money they spend. If you're recommended to them by someone they know and trust it will encourage them.

Remember you never know who might know your next client!

Thought for the Month

"Action makes more fortune than caution."

I thought this a great quote for my newsletter this month as having your clients take action to Stage their home for selling will give you and your clients the result of a sale which equals more fortune!

Declutter. Clean everything off the front, sides and top of your fridge. Keep the kitchen counter and tables clean and uncluttered. Throughout your home remove magazines and piles of newspapers. Remove or pack up collections, knick knacks and souvenirs. This will create a feeling of space.

Often I find people feel they have de-cluttered only to be amazed to hear me tell them to do just that. When they do all the de-cluttering I advise them to do their homes not only show better they sell!
